Count Christian August von Berckentin erected Kokkedal Castle in 1746 as a country manor in the Dutch Renaissance style. Kokkedal Castle was opened as a hotel in 2011 and acquired by Mikael Goldschmidt in 2013. Following extensive refurbishment and renamed Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen, the property has now revived its aristocratic soul in contemporary style.
Currently, Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen offers 59 rooms; designed in tune with the original style of the castle and with inspiration from the colours of stunning rural surroundings.
The vaulted ceilings castle cellar –which dates from 1746- hosts The Castle Cellar Restaurant, which focuses on classic local cuisine bearing a seasonal simplicity to enhance all flavours.
Covered and with state-of-the-art electronic walls and heating, the newly opened restaurant The Terrace serves a la carte lunch and dinner with gastronomic classics as well as fine French/Nordic gourmet experiences from Executive Head Chef Rungthiwa Chummongkhon who has a background from the best Danish Michelin restaurants; all with and amazing view of the parkland and the coastline.
Kokkedal Spa by Sodashi offers unique and exclusive treatments in a splendid, tranquil setting.
